Vessels: Fixed and Refracted
Moving beyond observation, this work directly uses light and water as a sculpting tool to create unique photograms with cyanotype. The process involves positioning various translucent containers of water— vessels—against the light-sensitive paper. The shifting densities and optical effects of the water capture and distort the sunlight, resulting in unexpected, complex silhouettes that challenge conventional ideas of shadow. Through this technique, I aim to transform the mundane materials of water and glass into luminous, architectural forms, urging viewers to see the astonishing visual complexity hidden within everyday domestic items.
