My 'Watermarks' series is inspired by the ever-changing ocean surf. It explores the beauty of movement, flow, and transformation. I am fascinated by the marks left in the sand, which are constantly reshaped by the waves. This series delves into the ephemeral nature of the shoreline, capturing the convergence of two elements: water and earth.
Unlike traditional darkroom prints, these works are created outdoors. I hand-paint watercolor paper with cyanotype and expose it to sunlight, using water, sand, and seaweed to interrupt the exposure. This series explores the delicate balance between my deliberate gestures and the unpredictable interplay of the sun, water, and waves.
